Art Crawl: Into the Archives

Art Crawl is a program designed to offer infants (newborns through 14 months) and their caregivers an opportunity to experience art, build relationships, and learn together. Surrounded by Clyfford Still’s expansive body of work, Museum educators will lead participants through the galleries and provide provocations based on art exploration. Your guide will encourage an interactive discussion on the importance of introducing your baby to art at an early age and tips for experiencing art together. We encourage you to let your infant explore, follow their lead, and observe what draws their attention. This experience is the best foundation for discussing and discovering the joy of art together.

Learn more about the personal items Clyfford Still left to the Museum and how they are cared for with an in-depth look at our archives. We will crawl into the past by exploring the archival hallway and looking at photo reproductions from our current exhibition. Come join us!

Space is limited, and pre-registration is required (you must purchase a Museum admission ticket or register with your CSM membership during online registration).

Documentation, including capturing moments of learning through photos and observations, is a big part of our Art Crawl philosophy. It helps record the infants’ learning in our galleries, strengthens educators’ reflections, and supports our efforts to share the story of Art Crawl with new families and the broader community! Please note that a CSM staff member will capture photos and videos of this Art Crawl session for both internal and external purposes to further our learning and promote Art Crawl. If you aren’t interested in participating in this project, we understand! We also offer Art Crawl sessions on the last Saturday and Sunday of each month. We suggest arriving 10 minutes early to organize your little one and belongings before we begin the program on the Museum’s second floor in The Making Space.

Admission: Free for CSM members, $15 adults, $13 seniors (65+), $10 teachers/military, $1 Museums for All/Explorer Pass (with valid EBT card), always free for children ages 17 and under. For programs that require advance registration, Five by Five participants can use the discount code 5×5 during checkout to register online and scan the QR code when they arrive at the Museum for the program.
