Still Uncovered Tour: Clyfford and Patricia Still’s Personal Belongings

Discover the Still in a new way with an exclusive behind-the-scenes experience! Each Still Uncovered Tour begins with a 60-minute guided exploration of the building and galleries, focusing on Still’s work, the architecture, and the unique nature of the collection and the Museum. The second portion invites guests to engage with specialized staff in secure Museum spaces not open to the public.

What lingers after a life is lived? During this October installment of Still Uncovered, visitors will explore the Still in Sound exhibition before venturing behind the scenes into the Research Lab with our Archives team. As the season turns toward the uncanny, we’ll explore personal belongings and clothing once owned by Clyfford and Patricia Still, including some of Still’s painting smocks, considering how ordinary objects become extraordinary over time—serving as vessels for memory, identity, and enduring presence. In addition, we’ll learn more about how our Archivists preserve and care for these unique items and the history they represent.

Still Uncovered Tours provide unique opportunities for guests to engage deeply with both the public and private sides of the Museum. Tours are limited to 10 people and require registration. Tours are available from 3–4:30 p.m. on the 2nd Friday of each month and open to visitors 13 and older.

Tour admission: $50 adults, $40 CSM members, and free for teens 13-17 (teens must be accompanied by an adult).
